Thoughts: I was impressed with this packaging. The powder was in an airtight foil pouch inside a tin container. The tin had a two step seal: first with an inner plastic stopper and then with a snug fitting lid. This helped the powder stay fresh and consistent over a longer period of time. I find that every matcha is good for a different setting and season. When tasting a matcha blend, I taste it multiple times on different days and with different preparations to identify its culinary style. Given that this blend has bitter flavors and a thicker texture, I consider it a solid choice for a winter latte. Without milk, I found this blend’s bitterness overpowering and acrid. This will differ from person to person, but if you are generally sensitive to caffeine or prone to anxiety, I’d be cautious with this blend and use lower powder doses. In my experiments 3-4 scoops left me feeling wired, whereas 1-2 scoops provided energy and focus. Overall, I do think this a fine blend for every day matcha lattes, however I’ll likely return to it in the winter months.
